AIA is a member of the Agent Strategy Group, which runs in parallel to JTASS, and discusses and advises on the Tax Agent Strategy and associated change programmes. The Tax Agent Strategy sets the direction for the future HMRC and agent relationship. AIA represents your views in this important forum and ensures that your voice is heard, our participation also makes sure that you have the most current information about changes coming from HMRC.

Working Together provides an opportunity for you and other AIA members to represent your Association and put your own views across to HMRC. Working Together provides a forum in which to identify, discuss, define or make suggestions for improvements to operational issues or problems; and provides processes and routes for escalating these. The meetings are intended to strengthen local liaison between tax practitioners and HMRC and to improve the operation of the tax system. Working Together is a nationwide network across the UK, and many AIA members are already involved in their local groups.

AIA is a member organisation of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Joint VAT Consultative Committee (JVCC). The JVCC was formed with the aim of bringing together HMRC and representative trade and professional organisations. It provides a platform for all parties to exchange views and discuss the operation of VAT policy and law, and presents the opportunity for feedback on proposed changes in the department. The JVCC is an important forum for AIA to put your views across on VAT.
