Legislation, Bills and Case Law impacting UK Payroll Professionals

A webinar covering the upcoming changes, what we know, what we don’t know and how to get ahead of them to ensure your company remains compliant.

11:30 - 12:30

Date: 15 November 2023

There seems to be a steady stream of new legislation and case law to contend with for payroll professionals in the UK and this year has certainly been no different. In this session Fiona Smith, from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), will guide you through the upcoming changes, what we know, what we don’t know and how to get ahead of them to ensure your company remains compliant.

Some of the changes discussed include:

  • Investment zones
  • Paternity leave
  • Neonatal leave
  • Carers leave
  • Flexible working requests
  • Predictable working pattern requests
  • Allocation of tips
  • National Minimum wage regulations
  • National insurance disregard for car allowance payments
  • Holiday pay claim backdating Supreme Court case

Many of these changes serve to strengthen and bolster workers right, which is obviously fantastic. However that does usually mean additional administration and financial burden for employers. Fiona will provide some tips and guidance to navigate these complexities and keep on top of your duties in the UK.

Additionally, the King’s speech and the Autumn Statement are on the horizon. With the threat of a general election at some point next year, will we start to see large changes to government focus and policy? With government consultations coming thick and fast we will also be expecting responses in the near future.

Join this session for a whistle stop tour of the upcoming changes to UK policy and legislation in the payroll sector. With a lot to know (and plenty to forget) it is always good to keep up with the latest policy updates.
