A webinar on how to uncover deeper insights, guide conversations, and achieve better outcomes for clients and colleagues.
10:30-11:30
Date: 20 March 2025
In this session, we build on the foundational concepts introduced in Part 1, which focused on key language patterns and the art of building rapport. The central theme of this talk is Effective Questioning, a critical skill for accountants and business professionals. Much of our communication occurs in one-on-one dialogues, where we are often required to establish the facts of a situation. However, beyond fact-finding, the ability to guide conversations through strategic questioning is essential to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients and colleagues. Mastering the art of questioning is a powerful starting point for enhancing communication effectiveness.
Effective questioning goes beyond simply gathering information; it involves using questions to open up conversations, inspire deeper intellectual engagement, and foster meaningful person-to-person interaction. The emphasis is on eliciting the process behind a person’s response—understanding the how and why rather than just the what. This approach encourages more thoughtful and insightful answers, enabling professionals to uncover underlying issues, explore solutions, and build stronger relationships.
The session will also integrate the concepts of language patterns, rapport building, and active listening with effective questioning techniques. By combining these elements, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to become more effective communicators. Practical examples and strategies will be shared to help you apply these skills in real-world scenarios, ultimately enhancing your ability to navigate complex conversations and drive positive outcomes.
