AML Update: Implementing a Firm-Wide Risk Assessment

A webinar designed to help supervised firms ensure they maintain a firm-wide risk assessment which meets regulatory requirements and best practice, appropriate and proportionate for their size and activities.

12:30 - 13:30

The Money Laundering Regulations require regulated firms to take appropriate steps to identify and assess the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing to which its business is subject.

To do so, firms need to understand their inherent risks and the effectiveness of controls in place to mitigate such risks.

The firm-wide risk assessment is the foundation of a firm’s approach to preventing money laundering and terrorist financing and its outcome should inform a firm’s policies, procedures and monitoring processes.

This webinar will help supervised firms ensure they maintain a firm-wide risk assessment which meets regulatory requirements and best practice, appropriate and proportionate for their size and activities.

The focus of the webinar will be:

  • developing and enhancing your money laundering and terrorist financing risk assessment to meet regulatory expectations.
  • providing you with an ability to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement in AML policies, procedures, and processes.
  • ensuring firms are aware of key risks, control gaps and remediation efforts, and
  • exploring how AMLCC, provided as part of an AIA Practising Certificate, can help your firm create and maintain a compliant firm-wide risk assessment.
The issues raised in the session will help you critically assess your existing processes and identify improvements.
