This session is designed for accountants and auditors involved in the preparation of IFRS accounts, to make sure that they are fully up to date with the latest developments and issues.

The session will cover:

  • New guidance applicable for the first time in 2024 
  • Getting ready for IFRS 18 and 19 – the key planning issues for all companies 
  • Matters discussed and conclusions reached by the interpretations committee (IFRIC) – what are the more contentious areas of compliance? 
  • Latest comment and feedback from regulators 
  • Update on ongoing hot topics such as revenue recognition and lease accounting. 

The key objectives of the session are to make sure that all attending:

  • Appreciate and understand the latest position regarding good IFRS financial statements and the likely areas where improvement may be necessary; 
  • Have examples and reference to good and bad practice so that the key issues can be addressed in a relevant and practical way. 
  • Can ask questions and raises issues on matters that they have faced when preparing IFRS accounts.

David Potts is a Chartered Accountant and technical trainer with over 20 years’ experience delivering technical training sessions on IFRS and financial reporting.
