The Northern Powerhouse Business Summit, which took place 4-6 July, was the central experience for businesses during the Great Exhibition of the North. The Summit heard from an outstanding line up of speakers, held workshops, and provided inspiration from stories of innovation from across industry.
During the summit AIA advocated the benefits of financial education and professional skills, discussed potential partnerships on behalf of our members and worked to continue to impress upon policymakers and businesses the standard and expertise of International Accountants.
The Business Summit provided businesses from across the North with learning, networking and commercial opportunities, as well as shining a spotlight on innovative startups and trailblazing scaleups.
The Business Summit heard from the Governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy the Rt. Hon. Greg Clark MP, the Minister for the Northern Powerhouse & Local Growth Jake Berry MP, city region mayors, and council and business leaders who discussed the future of the Northern Powerhouse and how businesses across the North of England can ensure an economy that’s fit for the future.
AIA strongly supports efforts to ensure financial growth and investment in education and skills across all regions of the United Kingdom and recognises the key contribution made by SMEs and SMPs to both the national and regional economies.
