FAB

Federation of Awarding BodiesAs an Awarding Body in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), the AIA is a full member of the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB).

FAB is the trade association for vocational awarding bodies in the UK; they represent the interests of over 120 awarding bodies by liaising with key stakeholders, including the regulators, government departments and funding agencies. FAB also provides information, advice and guidance to their members to support them in providing high quality and valued vocational qualifications.

FAB′s vision is "to represent awarding bodies as key stakeholders in a world in which high quality vocational education and qualifications are actively supported and valued."

Their objectives are to:

  • Strengthen influence with government departments, regulators and other agencies to the benefit of the awarding industry, FAB members, providers and learners.
  • Extend the profile and recognition of FAB with key stakeholders and thereby the recognition of the benefits of vocational qualifications and education.
  • Develop and support good practice in awarding body activity that will contribute to confidence in standards.
